Hey Samir, Read your Cricinfo post with interest. I have found that being in a cricketing outpost has focussed my attentions on other issues around the game. Partly this is because I am not playing any more (if you can call my right arm trundling as playing)but it is also, as you identify, from being a continent away from the action.
If you ever want to watch a game together I would happily head to a wi-fi coffee shop with a laptop and Willow TV or investigate the Aussie bars.
David: Thats a great idea. I'd be very keen to watch a bit of the action at the Oval on a big screen television. Unfortunately, our schedules might be out of sync. Saturday and Sunday are no good for me and I suspect you have a normal job that means you can't take off on weekdays. Lets see if we can work something out - it'd be great to watch a game together.
I do indeed work Monday to Friday, so scheduling might be tough.
David, the main culprit is not so much our workweek, as it is the timing of the matches. I could watch the games from noon onwards on Saturday and Sunday both, but that would only leave one hour for viewing. But I have an idea that might work. Why don't you drop me a line at samirchopra1 AT Yahoo DOT com? We'll figure it out there.
