Samir, there are some *beautiful* pics on that site. Thanks for posting this.

And the breathless shot, you must mean http://www.patrickeagar.com/library_details.asp?LibraryID=12401

because I've been staring at it and can't wrap my head around what the stroke must have been. Perhaps I should get the old bat out and attempt a dramatic recreation in the living room :-)

And I thought it was this one:

So which one is it? Or is it a mark of the man that in one Test he produced multiple feats to bewitch the mind?

JK: You are welcome. I intend to write more about Kim soon. That shot is on the cover of Ryan's book - I'm not sure what Kim is trying in there! But I think he might have overbalanced while playing a square-drive off the backfoot.

JQ: Yes, indeed, thats the one I had in mind. Christian says that the background to that shot is that Hughes came down the pitch, found he was not going to get to the pitch of the delivery correctly, changed the shot and square-drove. Its an unbelievable shot. There are others on that site that I'm sure you'll agree are just breathtaking as well. And I think you are right, its definitely a mark of the man that he could play so many shots so well.

Take this picture and rotate it 30 degrees CW. Voila!

Ah, Subhash...but for it to be perfect, you'd need to rotate Sachin's entire body such that it was pointed in the direction his head is facing, BEFORE you turn the photo by 30 degrees!

:-) And that is why KJ's shot still beggars belief.
