Well, hello, another pointless ODI series
I thought the India-West Indies ODI series earlier this year was a bit flat, and somehow incapable of generating interest. This England-Australia series is even worse, if that was possible. Play ODIs before tests; or have the occasional trophy tournament like the Champions or the World Cup. These interminable series, staged as unwanted desserts after the main course, are pointless.

It is fairly astonishing how quickly the buzz of Ashes victory can be dissipated with a pointless round of one day games. Champions Trophy here we come.
They played an even more pointless Test series before this one-day series. Went on for couple of months or so. One or the other team won in the end, I think. Or it may have ended in a draw, not sure.
David: Indeed; I wonder why the old idea of serving up an apertif of ODIs was done away with; I thought it kickstarted the international summer quite well.
Mohan: 2-1 England is the score you were looking for.
Samir: ah ok. Not that anyone cares. As I said, it was a pointless series.
