Back in Black
This Indian batting effort will at least feature one very interesting match-up (already underway): Tendulkar and Dravid versus Shane Bond. Good to see Bond back in black (his speed isn't up to full tilt yet, but the conditions might have something to do with it).

Thinking back to 2007 (The World Cup, The World T20, and a solitary test he played against the Saffers), Bond already seemed to have made a conscious decision to cut down on his pace - he's just about been hitting the 140's ever since. While his express days are a thing of the past, he seems to have evolved as a crafty, thinking bowler. How the kiwis need a batsman who can be similarly adept.
Suhas: You're right. Bond pretty much stayed at the same pace throughout. Which is decent enough if you have control. Its a pity we can't see the same 150k'ers anymore, but he knows what works with this body and what doesn't.
As for batting, a high-scoring batsman is overdue for the Kiwis.
