A question for the captain

Dear MS: If the idea behind team selection and strategy in the fourth one-day international was experimentation, then why the strange batting order, which saw you coming in at #3 and Rohit Sharma at #7? Were you short of batting time in the middle?

My sentiments exactly. Also, I did not understand why Tendulkar was rested. Surely it would have done him a world of good to have some runs against his name?

Puzzling indeed... a lot of us also expected Jadeja and Balaji to get a couple of games. And I agree with Megha though I can also see the apprehension they might have in playing him when there isn't much at stake... Lets put it this way, Tendulkar and luck just don't seem to be a good combination.

Exactly... Rohit is no number 7 batsman... he should have been sent 2 or 3 down..

though irfan seems to be eating up all his life lines....

Megha: I hadn't thought about Tendulkar not playing. My guess is that he decided to rest himself.

Achettup: And yes, why not Jadeja and Balaji as well?

CBS: I'm waiting for Irfan to show us a reasonably economic spell in a one-day match!

I was surprised to hear that Sachin was rested. I thought that Yuvi or Viru might be given a rest. And what about Jadeja? They could've kept Ishant out and taken him or Balaji. Strange....

However, I still have a feeling that the coin being used in SL is being tampered with by Dhoni. How else do you win 8 out of 9 tosses in the same country? :P

CT: We're going to see a brand new XI for the last game. And Dhoni will lose the toss :)
