The "Final" 15

A squad of 15 for a home test. Why is Mishra in there? I thought Chawla was the heir apparent? Just for once, I'd like to see the Indian selectors appoint a squad of 12 (or 13 max) for a home test. Just once.

Buzz: I know, I've been complaining about this for a while. No one listens :)

ASV: Has Chawla been given a fair run yet?Anyway, I hope Mishra does well, but my suspicion is that he'll do 12th man duties and then go back to domestic cricket.

I'm not upset about that and feel it took its own time transpiring.

Hope he gets a game this season and before he is mothballed...for if he does get a game in, he'll stay a while.

I dont know why they keep teasing Kaif and not giving him an opportunity. For heavens sake, give the guy another chance!

although i too was (is) against selecting more than 12/13 players for home series...but not this time...

first our team is not a settled team...

second, this series is already seen as beginning of an end of seniors...just about right time to groom players like badri, mishra etc by allowing them to share same dressing room with veterans...see if they are willing enough to pick up things from them...

I'm quite happy with the team. If they had given chance to Kaif instead of Badri, it'd have been better. Mishra is a much much better bowler than Chawla. Chawla is suited more for limited over games.

You can check and see how they've performed for India A.

Chawla is a bit predictabe. He is not yet ready for the long format. That's may the reason for not selecting him. The selectors may be trying out the new options.

Thats still better than the 20 Pakistan announce.

I think the change in selectors had a change in team composition - previous committee preferred Rohit and Chawla - this one prefers Badri and Mishra.

Interesting.
