Outlook article on Tendulkar

A happy new year to all. (Yes, I'm aware of the fact that its January 9th). I have been traveling in India, and hence unable to post. Anyway, I'll get things rolling by linking to a article of mine that has just appeared in Outlook India. Folks in India should run, not walk, to the nearest newsstand to pick up a copy. In the piece, I attempt to draw out the significance of Sachin Tendulkar for the self-image of the diasporic Indian.

I read the article online via a reference on Cricinfo.

Good one, Samir, though in my opinion it should have been a bit longer.

Hiya,

Read your article about the man that is Sachin, good stuff. Trying to let all cricket blogs know about WinkBall's citizen video coverage at the World Cup this year in India. We will also have a video interview with Sachin himself asking for his opinions on the Cricket World Cup and it coming to India.

If you fancy a look at the footage when we have it, drop me an e-mail. Could be an interesting blog piece.

Best Wishes

Chris Henry

Test #25 saw an unique occurrence of two brothers in a Test where Charles Bannerman was the umpire and his brother Alexander Bannerman as a player.
