Be safe, Sri Lankans

Perhaps it was inevitable. But even then, its hard to express the shock I felt on hearing of the attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore.

What a tragic way to refute the stupidest argument ever made in favor of playing cricket in Pakistan: "The terrorists won't attack cricketers".

The cowards just want publicity, nothing else. Regarding Pakistan's supposedly presidential security, we now know what a joke that is.

Tough luck for the Sri Lankan team and I hope the hurt players recover soon.

The argument of terrorists not targetting cricketers never cut ice with me...but I would have been very glad to be proven wrong.

Even after the attack, they have been highlighting that there is no lapse in security. With 6 policemen dead, many players injured, all the terrorists giving a slip shows the standards of so called security provided.

Its "game over" for playing cricket in Pakistan.

Sorry for the late replies, folks.

Satish: The desire for publicity is what makes this attack doubly dangerous because it sets a precedent: to attack cricket in South Asia is the way to go now.

SV: Not the end, but certainly a long postponement now.

Megha: I wanted the same but I wasn't so optimistic it would happen.

Enkay: Security in Pakistan really hasn't come out well in this incident's aftermatch. The more we read, the more it sound like a bad joke.
